A *Busy* Life

Hello Beautiful people! Welcome back.

Quick little life update: I just got back from Disneyland (it was so much fun), I got two new jobs, I’m searching for an internship for this summer, and it’s starting to heat up again in Arizona and I don’t think I’m ready for that one! I want to go a little more in depth about one of my new jobs because it’s a little more fun than my other office assistant jobs:).  But for this post, let’s talk about how to balance a busy life, especially with summer just around the corner.

Trust me of all people, I totally know about burnout by the end of the school year.  I still have about four weeks left, and I’m already in summer mode.  But here’s a few tips of how to finish the semester off soon before vacation mode kicks in full effect.

  1. Keep an updated planner:  My planner is my Holy Grail.  Without it, I would be so lost and I would probably forget to do half of the things I should.  I write out every hour of my day and cross it off as the day goes by.  I kid you not, I have every hour in detail. From the minute I start work at 8:30, to the half hour I have for lunch, to the hour I have to watch the bachelor at night (while I’m still working on homework).  Being able to see my day laid out on a piece of paper helps me a lot, even if it’s the same daily routine I have each Monday and Wednesday.  At the beginning of each week, I take some time to write out what my week looks like so I’m prepared and ready to tackle Monday.
  2. Make to do lists: I can not begin to explain how many sticky notes I have all over my computer,  my planner and my desk that are full of to do lists.  Every time something pops into my head that I know I need to do, I write it down. This ranges from small tasks (like make a dentist appointment), to bigger things (like make a study guide for an exam).  Being able to cross things off of the list is so satisfying, which is why it’s important to include smaller tasks too.  And being able to see everything that needs to be done in one place makes it easier to prioritize what needs to be done first.
  3. Say “no”: It’s ALWAYS okay to stay in one night.  I know FOMO kicks in hard when all of your friends go out and you have to stay in to study, but don’t be afraid to say no and meet up with them during the weekend.  Remember to prioritize what needs to get done and what’s more important to your success.  You can always plan another GNO to have some fun.

I want to know how some of you stay on top of things with your busy life! Comment below, or shoot me an email so I can incorporate new methods into my life! Love you all, have a beautiful week!
