Hello Beautiful People!
I know it has been a while since I have written on here, but school and work have been so time consuming this last semester. However, now it is the best time of the year…the Holidays!
I know different families have different traditions when it comes to the holiday season, so I wanted to share some of the fun things my friends and family do during this season.
First, we love to look at Christmas lights. There is one street in my neighborhood where the whole block decorates their homes with over the top Christmas lights. They have hundreds of lights covering the lawn, the roof, and even arches over the sidewalks. So, my family and I will bundle up in warm clothes, grab the dogs, and walk down to the street with the lights. This year, my boyfriend and I went to Old Town Sacramento and looked at the Christmas show that they put on with crazy lights and a HUGE Christmas tree.
Another tradition is to play holiday themed games on Christmas eve, rather than exchanging gifts. My mom’s side of the family will come over and each person is in charge of coming up with a Christmas game. This is always my favorite part of Christmas, even though we get extremely competitive, so we will see who comes out on top.
Lastly, this year, a group of friends and I are renting a cabin up towards Truckee so we can all get together and celebrate Christmas. 11 of us are going in total and I’m particularly excited for this because everyone has either left for college, or the military, so sometimes it gets hard to keep in touch. We are all going to dress up in Christmas sweaters and have a Ginger Bread House decorating contest. Hopefully, this becomes a tradition for years to come.
